Meet Our Team

Frances Scarry
Licensed Sales Producer

Email Frances, here.

I was born and raised here in Massapequa, New York. I have a deep connection to this community and would not want to live anywhere else! Three years ago, I started as a receptionist here at the Zabbia Agency. After receiving my license, I can now work as a Licensed Sales Producer and carry out my passion… helping people protect the items they love most!

One of the best parts of my job is interacting with our customers. I love to serve the people in the community whom I have known my whole life. In addition, I feel like I know the community well and am proud to be considered as a trusted advisor by many of our clients.

I love my family and spend my free time with my children. When I’m not helping people with their insurance needs, you can find me at the closest sports field or court watching my sons play sports!

Robert Zabbia
Agency Owner

My dad opened this agency in North Massapequa in 1996, and I started working with him just a year later. Watching him interact with people was the reason I got into the business. He got to know so many people in the area, and everyone knew him wherever we went. I took over the agency when he retired in 2001, after 20 years in the business, and I’m proud to now work with the kids and grandkids of the people he helped to insure over the years.

Massapequa is a close-knit community, and my wife, Joey, and I are happy to be raising our twin son and daughter nearby. Most days you’ll find me at the office or with my family — especially on various sports fields with my kids. But I also do my best to give back to the community through the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce. I’m a member of the Columbus Lodge of the Order Sons of Italy, and I sponsor scholarships through the group each year. I also support local softball leagues and Plainedge High School football, and I enjoy my time with the Mustang Club of Long Island.

My team and I have been together for a long time, and you’ll experience a friendly, customer-oriented feel that comes with a family business. We understand life on the south shore first-hand and are ready to help you protect what matters most — whether you need home, auto or life insurance or are a contractor who needs small business insurance. We’re also here to help you prepare for your future, from saving for college to getting ready for retirement. Our office is located at the corner of Broadway and Kings Avenue — please stop in and see us today!

I have worked in the insurance industry for 19 years in various positions customer service, management, and claims. I grew up in Farmingdale and nearby Massapequa. I graduated from Farmingdale High School and later from Hofstra University with a BBA degree in Business Administration and Management.

I truly enjoy servicing customers to make sure they are protected properly at the best possible price. It’s even more exciting that I get to do in the neighborhood I grew up in. I enjoy spending time with my family, my husband, my dog Bella and my kitties. Traveling to visit friends. Spending time my husband working around out house. I love chocolate. It is my downfall! I am a volunteer with the rescue I saved Bella from Long Island Golden Retriever Rescue.

Edgar Shepherd III
Licensed Sales Producer

I am a native of Massapequa, and recently returned home to Long Island after 20 years in Upstate NY, Southern VT and Northern NJ. I have a degree in Biology from SUNY Stony Brook and a passion for working with, and helping people navigate the perils that come and go in life. I have worked in and around the insurance industry for 14 years. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, organic gardening, local food, skiing, music, and of course the ocean. Long Island is a wonderful place to live, work, and play, and I am so excited to call Massapequa home again.

I have served on the board of 3 different environmental organizations in NJ, as well as President of a Business Networking Group, and volunteered at BARKS animal shelter. I look forward to playing an active role in our community here in Long Island between Veterans issues, children with disabilities, and animal rescue operations.I am especially proud to be the newest member of the Zabbia Insurance Agency, and look forward to showing you, and your family, what it truly means to “be in good hands”.

Licensed Sales Producer

I was born and raised in Southeastern Idaho, and moved to New York three years ago to complete my education at NYIT. I have a strong background in sales and advertising, as well as video production. I love learning and teaching others, both of which I get to do on a daily basis.

I have worked in the insurance industry for over two years now. It has been a great experience, as I love educating people on how to protect what is most important to them: their families.

I enjoy nutrition planning and fitness. Both are major components of my life, and something personal I can always be working on improving.

When I’m not in the office, you can find me at the gym, cooking at home, at the beach, or enjoying good food with friends.

Denise “Dee” Felitti
Licensed Sales Producer

I was born and raised in Long Island. I come from a Financial background. I graduated with a BBA in Accounting, and MBA  in Management, from Dowling College.

After working in Corporate Accounting/Office Management for over 20 years, I decided to redirect my career  to Insurance.  I’ve been with in the industry for about 3 years.  It’s important to me that people don’t just buy insurance as a necessity, but understand what they are paying for and why. I continue the personal attention in all that I do.  My motto is “It’s all in the details” and spend the time making sure the details are understood.  I love being around people and meeting new people. This is one of the reasons why I enjoy working at The Zabbia Agency. We get involved with the community!  When calling me, just ask for “De”, we have two Denise’s in the office!!

In my spare time I like to travel, and meet up with friends and family. I love teaching the craft of scrapbooking and card making at local libraries and planning events.

Victoria Pyzynski
Marketing Coordinator

I grew up in Massapequa, New York and graduated from Farmingdale High School. I went to SCCC for their Baking Program for one year and later graduated from Farmingdale State College with my Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management.

My experience with the Zabbia Agency started with my role as a social media and marketing intern. I enjoyed my job so much that after graduation, I decided to stay and further my knowledge of marketing in the insurance industry.

I am passionate about the community I live in and making a positive impact. I especially enjoy learning new ways to create connections in the community by using social media. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than learning a new skill. I also like to help others in the office by teaching them something new, no matter how big or small.

To me, nothing says “I care about you” more than cooking someone a delicious meal. When I’m not in the office, you can find me in the kitchen either cooking or baking— I’ve had a passion for both from a very young age.

I spent my childhood and early adult years in Queens, New York. I attended the Tobe Coburn School for Fashion Careers in NYC. Before starting at the Zabbia Agency, I worked at a company that required extensive traveling throughout Asia, during which I worked with both potential and existing customers.

I have a love for learning; in fact, I try to learn something new every day at the office. Helping our customers to meet their insurance needs has been an incredibly enriching experience. There is nothing better than making sure our clients are properly prepared for the future!

I am passionate about seeing the world and really enjoy taking trips with my son and husband. We have visited many interesting places throughout the U.S. as well as Europe and Asia.

Staying physically fit and healthy is very important to me, so exercise is a major part of my daily routine. When I’m not at the gym or in the office, you can find me at the beach— walking and running the beautiful Long Island boardwalks.

In addition to my role here at the Zabbia agency, I help run my husband’s construction company! I have always had an eye for design. In fact, my friends tell me that I am a great asset to them in helping decorate and organize their homes.

As a 10 year survivor of Breast Cancer, I am actively involved in many ways to help that community. I consistently donate and volunteer in my free time.

I have had a long and successful career in the insurance industry. For over 25 years, I’ve helped my customers protect the things they love the most. I have extensive experience working in both the sales and customer service sides of the industry.

I grew up on Long Island, New York and am very close with my family. In fact, when I’m not in the office, you will certainly find me spending time on the beach and traveling with my family.

The part I enjoy most about my job is speaking with people and helping to educate them on insurance policies that best protect them and their families. This job is rewarding for me because I get to provide people with peace of mind and security.

In addition to my role at the agency, I like to participate in charity organizations that help our community. An organization that resonates with me is the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, which I frequently donate to in the loving memory of my daughter.
